

Jethro Tull, Curved Air, Rush, Clannad, Jefferson Airplane, Nightwish, Loreena McKennitt, Marillion, Steeleye Span... Myriad are the comparrisons made to the sound of Legend. Originally founded in Runcorn, Cheshire UK, Legend is becoming an established name in the world of Progressive Rock. Employing a traditional 5 piece format Legend play epic songs combined with mystically poetic lyrics. All delivered by a haunting female voice, underpinned by punchy precise guitars, swirling keyboards, fluid bass lines, all driven by authoritative drums.
Drawing on the rich tradition of Folklore and Pagan Mysticism of the British Isles, Legend weaves their musical spell incorporating diverse influences from Folk, Classical, World, New Age, Medieval, Gothic all built upon a solid Heavy Rock sound.
Since their inception in 1988 Legend has released six albums and performed many spectacular live shows which has helped to build them a loyal following around the world. The band’s debut was Light in Extension in 1991 following which the band toured extensively and also gained a Japanese licensing deal. As a result Legend’s 1992 live show was captured and released as Playing with Fire on both video and much later on CD.
1993 saw ‘Second Sight’ released in both Europe and Japan followed in 1994 with an extensive UK tour supporting label mates Inkubus Sukkubus. Throughout 1995 Legend worked relentlessly on their third studio album and their most epic undertaking to date. ‘Triple Aspect’ was released in 1996 and earned the Band many accolades and new fans. From 1998 to 2008 the band entered a dormant period, brought about by the folding of Legend’s Record label and Production Company.
In mid 2008 Discussion began to bring about the reformation of the band, followed by the release of ‘Ritual Echo’ an Anthology of the band’s first three albums in 2009. In 2010 Legend released the soundtrack from ‘Playing with Fire’ on CD and also headed into the studio to record a brand new album. Their latest recording ‘Cardinal Points’ released in April 2011, has received much critical acclaim.
Legend hope to be playing live from late 2011 and intend to start work on another studio project in early 2012.
